Urban Planters London West Get Green Award
23 July 2010
Urban Planters London West are the proud recipients of an award in the Mayor of London’s Green Awards 2010; they were Runners Up in the Best SME category.
This is some achievement – the winner was a somewhat larger company, stationery suppliers Wiles GreenWorld.
"[The Award] confirms that Urban Planters, even at a local level, are always working to improve their environmental performance,” commented Liz Cabble, Director of Urban Planters London West.
The Award ceremony took place at the beginning of June at the Globe Theatre when London’s Mayor, Boris Johnson was the keynote speaker and presented the Awards.
“Each year the Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code holds an awards ceremony to recognise London organisations that have addressed environmental issues in their supply chains.
“In 2010 the Green Procurement Code is linking with the Green 500 and Better Buildings Partnership for an even bigger celebration of achievements: The Mayor of London’s Green Awards.”
