Plant Designs Raise Money for Greenfingers

Staff at a London-based office plants specialist company, Plant Designs handed over a cheque for £3,400 last month (May, 2010) to the charity Greenfingers.
Plant Designs raised the money by supplying Christmas trees to offices throughout London last December (2009).
Sales and Marketing Manager, Mark Groves said: "Greenfingers is dedicated to creating magical gardens at children's hospices across the UK. It was set up by members of the gardening industry and we thought it is the perfect organisation to support. We raised the money by donating a percentage of revenue generated from supplying Christmas trees to offices throughout London."
Plant Designs is a specialist landscaping company supplying and maintaining tropical plants, roof gardens, fresh flowers and Christmas décor to offices and buildings throughout central London.
Melissa Wood, Marketing Co-ordinator for Greenfingers, said: "We are delighted Plant Designs has managed to raise this wonderful amount of money for Greenfingers. It will go towards helping children and their families who are making use of the network of children's hospices across the country. On behalf of everyone at Greenfingers, I'd like to thank Plant Designs for all of its fundraising and look forward to working with the company again.”
Greenfingers was launched in November 1998 by garden writer and broadcaster, Richard Jackson and a team of volunteers drawn from all sectors of the gardening industry.
Growers, plant breeders, retailers, manufacturers and a host of gardening journalists and celebrities have willingly contributed materials, time and expertise to create gardens at children's hospices around the UK.
Melissa added: "Greenfingers is the charity of the gardening industry and we create special gardens for children's hospices. For many life-limited children, our gardens are their only opportunity to safely play outside with their families and friends and enjoy time together - away from the bedside."
